Studio gb was instructed by MACE
as the delivery landscape architect to lead the landscaping and public realm
design for the new City of London Law Courts—a purpose-built facility housing
18 courtrooms—and an adjacent, state-of-the-art police headquarters and offices.
Our role involved developing the tender works package prepared by Bradley-Hole
Schoenaich Landscape Architects and overseeing its implementation on-site.
The project introduces three new
buildings and seven terraces, significantly expanding and enhancing the public
space at Salisbury Square. The design establishes new east-west connections,
creating a highly accessible and seamlessly integrated area. Drawing
inspiration from the historic City layout, the placement of buildings and
introduction of new pathways reflect traditional passageways, encouraging
interaction and the exchange of ideas.
